This year in English class we did some pretty CRAZY activities.
As always, I like to get some feedback on some of the activities we completed this year!

I have nothing negative about your class. Always a relief from coming after history class to english. The tests, hard but also very easy because you let us use our books. Projects, besides dressing up which you made my anxiety explode, I enjoyed it because of the simplicity. Loved coming to english class especially trying to break into the class finding a way when the kids try to lock me out. I don't know how you can improve it. This class cures my depression that I get from the previous classes. BLOGS PLEASE If I get you as my teacher again. Wish more teachers were as understanding and "no homework believers" were more common. thxs for being very light and not super tough. People tell me being in your class is bad because you don't prepare us for next grades. I DON't AGREE because I get ENOUGH of toughness from my other drill seargents! Deletethere is nothing negative about your class its the best class out of all of them you don't need to change anything even the tests were kind of fun and the projects were amazing the only thing I would change is one blog a week instead of two and if we could redo something that we did in class it would be the outsiders project.

DeleteI don't really have anything negative about your class. I enjoy coming to your class because you are a very different teacher than others in a very positive way. You do special activities that other teachers would never take the time and do. Your class layout is different than every other class. You have tables and all the other classes have old boring desks. I enjoyed the projects and assignments in your class because we did most of our stuff online and I thought it was pretty cool. Your class is also different because you send out texts messages to us to remind us about our homework and blogs. That no other teacher in this school would do. The only thing that I didn't like in your class this year is the pop quizzes I don't think you should continue those but everything else you do I would definitely recommend to do it again.

I honestly have no negative feedback or comments. I also loved the energy in the classroom and how we talk about the stuff that’s happening in the outside world. I always love coming to English it always makes me happy.
DeleteI loved this year the blogs were cool but there were some topics that were hard to write about. The adventures of Ulysses test was awesome. Everything I loved put in to one test! I also really liked some of the activities we would do on the chromebooks! Honestly everytime I would walk into the class I would always have this great feeling we would do something fun. You wanted feedback well the book Alice in Wonderland was really boring and I don’t really see anything interesting in it so I would remove it from the books we read throughout the year. I think the test for the Outsiders and Alice in Wonderland could be made a little more fun but not EASY. Honestly overall it was a great year with a couple boring classes. Thank you Mr.Katz for this awesome way of teaching english this year!

DeleteMeh, we have way too many tests and projects, blogs are alright. Well I had weird ish feelings because I thought the English teacher (you Mr.K!) were gonna be does English teachers from movies but you where not! My recommend subject for improvement is Science, that's all. I should definitely do Science again. :/
ReplyDeleteI think that the tests were pretty evenly spaced out meaning their was not one every week. The only project I did not like was the go animate project. Personally I like the blogs I find they are a good way to express your feelings. I love coming to English because you learn but it is also fun. The only thing I would not do is the Go animate project. A thing I would love to do is bake the cake for the immersion program thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis year has been really fun in english this class was by far was the best because when I would look at my schedule and see english I would be happy. This year in english has been really great mostly because of the things that we have done. Example we have eaten cake we have watched like 3 or four movies this year like you would never do that in like history or science. My opinion of this class is everything good because i don’t think that I could think for years straight and come up with something negative about this class.

DeleteWell the test were fine and educational as always and I’m not being sarcastic. The projects were fun and creative, good job Mr Katz. Any ways the blogs were really fun to also how do you think of so many creative ideas for how many days in a year, kudos to you. I love going to English class because one we have an incredible teacher and seconds the class is educational and fun. To be honest the only thing I have to say for improvements are to not be so nice and patient. You should do everything that you did with us this year because it was great literally unthinkable.

DeleteI love coming to English class, because it is not boring and I now that we are probably going to to an activity including the chrome books. I think that the tests were perfect. It didn't cause any stress and you didn't have to stay up until 11:00 studying, but when you did the tests it was a little stressful because you were worried that you wouldn't have time to finish. I loved the projects, they were so different and unique. I also liked how we didn't have to memorize a speech and then present it in front of the whole class. I liked the blogs because it wasn't written homework and because you have 3 nights to do them. The only thing that didn't really like is having to answer questions to every chapter in Freak the Mighty. I think that you should definitely read the Outsiders book again and do the Go Animate project again. Overall I think that it was a great year and that we did lots of fun things!

ReplyDeletei think that you should keep doing everything the same because i was able to pass so it means it is some what challenging but it is fine i really enjoyed doing blogs the whole year. I enjoyed doing the blogs because they where all ways fun and about interesting thing and i found that they where easy and are like free marks. The test where fine but hard but every project we did this year was very interesting.

DeleteI have nothing bad to say about English class, I LOVE coming to English class. I like your test and stuff because most of the time you make it REALLY simple and easy, which I like. Projects where the amazing, you had so many ideas and stuff that it was always fun and interesting. Blogs where fun to do and it was cool reading what everyone had to say (no I'm not a creepy stalker or anything like that). I was always excited for English class and I would talk to it to Veronica (my best friend)about how fun and excited English class was. I really liked when we did the outsiders project, it was really fun and is my favourite book now, so I think you should keep and reading it with your next classes and stuff.

DeleteThe tests in English we're pretty hard and long. I personally always enjoyed the English projects. They were always really fun to do and not too hard. The blogs i also loved because there simple and count for marks. The overall feeling on coming to English class was excitement because every English class is super fun and it's not like any other English class I've been in before. Well for improvements i would make us read less because I find we did too much reading in a day. I would definitely still do cake day because everyone enjoys cake day. thank you for reading my blog ;)

DeleteI think the test were a bit hard. It was definitely a challenge to finish it in a certain time but it ended pretty good. Some of the projects were fun but my least favourite one was the GoAnimate. I didn't like it because it was a really slow website and it took me a long time to finish it. Some of the books that we read were pretty interesting like The Outsiders and others like The Odysseus was really long. The blogs were a bit annoying but I liked the fact that you gave us a good amount of time to finish them. I really enjoyed English class this year because it felt like I was an a different environment, an environment that is easy to work in. English was my favorite subject to come to! I think you should definitely do the cake project with your IB students and do little projects on the books that you will read.
ReplyDeleteI loved everything about english class this year. We never had that much homework or projects, but even if we did it would still be fun. I think my favourite activity of the year was cake day! What is a better class than where all you do is eat cake! I don’t think I would change anything about our english class. I love how our homework is online and how the projects are usually done using technology. I can’t believe this is my final blog, the year has passed so quickly!

DeleteI’m really worried that the school year is almost finished. That means exams and stuff. Obviously I’m not looking forward to that. I’m english the things I really enjoyed were the outsiders project and the cake project from Alice in wonderland. You should definitely do that again. You should also continue doing blogs so that they don’t have much homework !! You were such a great teacher. What I didn’t like was quick writes. Sometimes they were fun but other times they were annoying! Thank you for reading !!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m pretty sure that English class is my favourite class just because we do so many fantastic projects during the year. What I do think is that the tests should be a bit more elaborate, I mean adding more to it. Like if you ask “what is a simile” you should ask like give an example. My feeling when I come to English class everyday is that I know I’m gonna have a fantastic class and that I will be happy because this whole year, I haven’t had a single class that I did not like
